We just make basic icing: confectioner&#8217;s sugar\/milk\/food colouring, then top with sprinkles and such.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the recipe that I (Angella) use to make sugar cookies.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dutchblitz.net\/recipes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_2399-wmsm2.jpg\" title=\"Brown Sugar\u00a0Cookies\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/dutchblitz.net\/recipes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_2399-wmsm2.jpg\" alt=\"Brown Sugar Cookies\" align=\"middle\" height=\"320\" width=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>INGREDIENTS:<\/p>\n<p>3\/4 cup butter, softened<br \/>\n1 cup packed brown sugar<br \/>\n1 egg<br \/>\n1 tsp vanilla<br \/>\n2 1\/2 cups all purpose flour<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp baking powder<br \/>\npinch of salt<\/p>\n<p>DIRECTIONS:<\/p>\n<p>Beat butter with sugar until light and fluffy.  Beat in egg and vanilla.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt.  Stir into butter mixture in three additions.<\/p>\n<p>Divide dough in half.  Shape each into a disc.  Wrap and refrigerate for 1 to 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Between waxed paper, roll out the dough to 1\/4 inch thick (I like mine a little thicker).<\/p>\n<p>Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Let cool for 1 minute on cookie sheet, then transfer to racks to cool completely.<\/p>\n<p>Decorate!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a variation on the standard sugar cookie.
